Based in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire, KO2 Adventures offers dirtbiking with a twist. A registered CIC (Community Interest Company), this social enterprise works with young people to build discipline, self-worth and responsibility. More specifically, KO2 addresses the lack of alternative education opportunities for youth with social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders. According to KO2’s Facebook page, the programs, which use electric dirtbikes, teach “accredited life, IT, riding and maintenance skills” and promote “volunteering and collaboration with authorities.” Through KO2’s central online volunteering charity, ACIF, the CIC provides a portion of its funds to go toward sustainable development projects in rural Kenya.
