To generate more awareness on the importance of recycling and the appreciation of solid waste, the first Exchange Market was held on March, 2012. Its objective was to exemplify tangibly how what we call waste becomes raw matter and to detonate the culture and economy of recycling in a constant and sustainable manner. Five types of recyclable solid residues were exchanged for agricultural products from the Federal District of Mexico, thus supporting local productors and reducing the carbon footprint caused by product transportation.
