The Library Room project is separated into two parts. The first part covers the donation of books and set up of a simple library management system to encourage the staff and students to use the books. The original intention of the "Mobile Book Corner" was the hope that students could broaden their horizons, gain greater insight about themselves and learn more about life through reading. Hence, an abundant selection of high-quality children books, full of pictures and words are purchased each time. If the school has the resources, educational DVDs/ CDs like BBC and Discovery Channel programs on astronomy, geography, ecology and culture are also donated. The second part covers classes and activities for the students lead by the volunteers. As our volunteers from mainland China all come from different universities with degrees in different subjects, they are always able to surprise the students with each activity. After one particular activity, a school principal said to the volunteers "Normally when class finishes at three the students scatter home as fast as they can. However, these past few days with you here, students have been arriving before it's even light and after class they are unwilling to go home."
