The aim of the project is to increase the water table, bring down the average temperature in Vellore, Tamil Nadu recover the green on the hills, and provide sustainable eco-friendly solutions for waste management. For this purpose, the following activities are being carried out: 1. Digging percolation ponds (1500 feet above the ground level) in suitable places to trap rain water and strengthening soil bunds with suitable vegetation. 2. Preserving and multiplying all type of native species in that Hill range (seed collection, Nursery development through cuttings, etc. 3. Protecting the hills from fire, deforestation, cattle grazing, hunting, etc. 4. Taking necessary steps to control soil erosion. 5. Planting fruit (Wild) trees in all necessary spots to attract birds and animals and enriching the soil condition. 6. Creating initial vegetation ( Grasses, Shrubs etc.,). 7. Guiding the college and school students (N.S.S) coming for village camps in planting saplings and trees. 8. Creating awareness in the public.
